I am working on a new series of paintings related to the residency in Kenya.

I am going to Kenya, Africa for a month, to do voluntary work for Scilo, a Norwegian organisation, who works with young girls who are violated by circumcising, rape etc.. That will probably change the way I see life..

I am working on an public art commission. In December you can see the result at the sitting boulders at the Splash Point in Worthing.

I am working as an artist in residence at Pallant House, where I am drawing a map of Sussex from year 1778 on to the wall.

I have got a studio at Trafalgar Studios in Portslade. Fantastic light and high ceiling.

I have been an artist in resident for 2 weeks on the Research Vessel Lance in the Arctic. It is an ice breaker and we went through the ice towards Greenland. I was so lucky to see a polar bear and dolphins as well.

At the time I am making new work from this fantastic experience close to the North Pole.

I will be running recycling workshops 18-19th July at Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park, London.

I will be an artist in residence at Legal and General 22nd to 26th June - creating art from their waste to focus on waste reduction.

The peacock made of recycled cd's, wash machine drum, shelving racks etc is now on show at the WWT London Wetland Centre.

It has been a good year - I have been exhibiting in 25 different shows in 2008.

The Polar bears are going to be exhibited at the Royal Geographical Society's Conference in London.

I will be running a workshop at Oak Grove College in Worthing

My drawings will be represented by Will's Art Warehouse at the Affordable Art Fair in London 23 - 26 October and in Amsterdam 30 October to 2 November.

I will run more workshops for schools and colleges. Details to be confirmed.

On 1st of August The Polar bears moves from Stroud House Gallery to Living Coast in Torquay, where they will be until 1st September.

My UK MELTDOWN Solo show , is now visiting The Hop gallery in Lewes, East Sussex. From Thursday 10th July until Tuesday 15th. Open daily 10.30am - 5pm.

Another couple of polar bears are now exhibited in Stroud House Gallery in Stroud until 1 August.

I will be visiting Springfield First School in Worthing, West Sussex this month to run a workshop with the children, which has a strong environmental theme.

Tone Holmen's sculptures of polar bears made from plastic bags are currently being displayed at the Recycled Sculpture Show at London Zoo, England. Twenty sculptors have used everyday waste and scrap to create works of art that will remain on show until September 5, 2008. Tone has also recently appeared in the National English newspapers such as the Telegraph and Daily Mirror.
